Israel and India hold additional trade talks

India and Israel have held wide ranging talks for further enhancing bilateral relations in diverse fields like economy, agriculture and science.

The foreign ministry consultations reviewed bilateral, regional and multilateral issues.

''The discussions were wide ranging and constructive'', said Israeli foreign ministry spokesperson Mark Regev.

''It was held in a spirit of friendship and mutual understanding which characterises the relations between the two countries'', a joint statement following the discussions said.

The Indian delegation at the talks was led by N Ravi, Secretary (East), while deputy director general at the foreign ministry, Amos Nadai, led the Israeli side.

The delegation also called upon Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Tsipi Livni.

It was the 10th round of the Foreign Affairs Consultations between the two countries coinciding with 15th anniversary of their diplomatic ties.
